Reunion confirmed · 18 Australian shows announced for 2027
On 9 October 2026, Powderfinger confirmed their reunion in a video featuring all five members — Bernard Fanning (vocals), Ian Haug (guitar), Darren Middleton (guitar), John “JC” Collins (bass) and Jon Coghill (drums). The Brisbane band will play a national tour of Australia from September 2027, their first since the 2010 farewell, 16 years ago.
Powderfinger on tour: the story so far
Formed in Brisbane in 1989, Powderfinger released seven studio albums (the last, Golden Rule, in 2009) and won 18 ARIA Awards. Their Sunsets Farewell Tour opened on 1 September 2010 at the Newcastle Entertainment Centre, played two nights at Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne and two sold-out nights at the Sydney Entertainment Centre (a third Sydney show was then added at Acer Arena), sold around 250,000 tickets and ended at Brisbane's Riverstage on 13 November 2010. Their only performance since was One Night Lonely, a 2020 virtual concert that raised about A$500,000 for Support Act and Beyond Blue.
